2017年オーストラリアのメルボルンで開催されたIJCAI（International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence：人工知能に関する国際合同会議）での自律兵器に関する発表に対する公開状。この会議の焦点は、戦場における自律兵器の技術的、法的、また社会的な問題点です。
私たちは、自律兵器に転用可能な人工知能やロボット工学の技術を構築する企業として、この警告を発する責任があると感じています。
私たちは、致死性の自律兵器システムに関する、政府専門家グループ（GGE：Group of Governmental Experts）を設立するための国連の特定従来兵器（CCW：Certain Conventional Weapons）に関する条約会議の決定を温かく歓迎します。私たちの研究者や技術者の多くは、あなたの審議に技術的アドバイスを提供したいと考えています。
私たちはインドのアマンデップ・シン・ギル大使のGGE議長任命を称賛いたします。私たちは、これらの兵器の軍拡競争の防止、民間人による誤用の防止、これらの技術による社会の不安定化への対策について、GGEの締約国が全力を尽くすことを歎願します。
